GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This election cycle, FOX 17 is partnering with non-profit journalism group ProPublica in an effort to spot and address our viewer’s issues with voting before and after the election.

ProPublica’s Electionland project, a nationwide media collaboration with roughly 100 American newsrooms, will track voting problems and election integrity.

This year, the electoral system has been shaken by an ongoing global pandemic and the landscape of voting has been changed.

You can help us by sending in any problems you witness or experience when casting your ballot in person or by mail.

The tip lines are now open, and if you sign up before you vote, ProPublica will message you on Election Day to ask how your voting experience went.

Text the word VOTE to 81380 to sign up or visit ProPublica’s website for more information.

We will be on the lookout for any problems that prevent people from voting — such as mail ballot delivery problems, changed voting locations, long lines, registration problems, purged voter rolls, broken machines and voter intimidation. To let us know how your voting experience goes, here’s how to sign up and get in touch.
