LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Department of State began the process of conducting the statewide risk-limiting audit of the November 2020 general election Monday morning.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says conducting audits like this helps restore faith in elections and democracy as a whole.
It will compare the results of a hand count of randomly-selected ballots with results previously printed from machines.
