Finding McKenzie her Forever Home

GRAND RAPIDS — A very outgoing and adventurous young lady is looking for a forever family who will be there for her through good times and bad.

McKenzie is 12 years old and very social. She also enjoys shopping and getting her nails done, so FOX 17 spent some time with her at The James Salon.

The options at a salon can be overwhelming, but not for McKenzie. She knows her stuff when it comes to nail colors and loves to share that with her friends.

She said, “We watch movies, paint our nails, do my hair or their hair, go outside and play.”

McKenzie said she likes to talk a lot and describes herself as “nice, kind, and energetic.”

She also knows exactly what she wants out of life.

“I want all these clothes, all the jewelry, to find a foster family, and to get my own car, “ she said.

She especially knows what she wants when it comes to an adoptive family.

“I want a mom and a dad and three dogs and one cat. I’d feel like those are my brothers and sisters,” she said.

McKenzie enjoys doing math and science and her favorite color is blue, which is perfect considering what she wants to be when she grows up.

She said, “I wanna be a cop, because I could arrest people and help people out.”
