GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The motion to rename a Grand Rapids street after Breonna Taylor has been approved by the Grand Rapids Committee of the Whole.
The move came today at the committee's meeting.
The Grand Rapids City Commission also approved the item during its meeting Tuesday night.
A strong majority of those who participated in a public hearing by the City Commission on Sept. 29 expressed support to rename Monroe Center from Division Avenue to Monroe Avenue as "Breonna Taylor Way," according to a letter today from city staff to City Manager Mark Washington.
