The United Way of Midland County is letting the public know of ways to help those devastated by massive flooding following heavy rain and the breach of two dams.

Since the collapse of the Edenville and Sanford Dams, the Tittabawassee River has crested at 35.05 feet, and a flood warning will remain in effect through Sunday, county officials say.
"We are grateful for all those who have reached out looking for ways to help our neighbors," a Facebook post from United Way Midland County read. "We are working directly with the Emergency Management Team and the shelters to assess long term and short term needs for volunteers and supplies."
