GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Dutton Fire Department has received portable speed bumps that will be used to slow traffic on active scenes.
The fire department shared the news on social media this afternoon.
“Our lights, cones and signs don’t seem to get the point across,” the Facebook post reads, “so we’ve incorporated something the more careless drivers out there will feel.”
They say the fire department does not always have staff available to conduct traffic while taking care of an active scene. “There’s nothing more unsettling to us than working in traffic while we’re trying to focus on treating injuries or operating equipment,” they add.
