1 dead after shooting off Plainfield in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police are investigating a deadly shooting Sunday evening.

Officers responded to a shots fired call just before 7 p.m. in the 1400 block of Plainfield Avenue NE, according to a news release.

Police say a 4 3-year-old man was shot after being approached.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No suspect information was available.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office.
