GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Officers responded to an armed robbery suspect who barricaded themself inside a northwest Grand Rapids home Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in the 700 block of Fifth Street at around 8 p.m., according to the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD).
We're told the victim of the armed robbery, a pedestrian, was able to tell police which home the suspect entered. Several people were inside the home at the time.
A special response team was summoned to surround the building after calls for everyone inside the home to exit went unanswered. Police say all occupants eventually left the home.
GRPD says the suspect has since been taken into custody. The other occupants were detained. No injuries were reported.
A search warrant at the home is expected at a later time.
