GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Firefighters are currently on scene of a massive house fire on the northwest side of Grand Rapids.
We're told the fire started around 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Lake Michigan Drive and National Avenue NW.

A postal worker ended up seeing the flames and helped get the residents outside of the home.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoking coming from the attic which quickly spread.
The fire has engulfed the home and firefighters are now using a defensive attack.
Firefighters say the cold weather is also making it extremely difficult to fight the fire.
