GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Among many events to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II is a flyover of WWII-era planes Wednesday afternoon.
The flight path of the planes will take them over the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, the Gillette Bridge in downtown Grand Rapids, and the Wyoming VA outpatient clinic.
The planes are expected to be over the veterans home around 5:57 p.m., over downtown Grand Rapids around 6:00 p.m., and over the VA clinic around 6:05 p.m.
The planes will originate from Ypsilanti, then fly over Brighton, Howell, the Michigan state Capitol building, and then on to Grand Rapids.
The flyover is the cap of a series of virtual events called the Greatest Generation Day.
