GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While COVID-19 has made large community meals impossible this year, Guiding Light is still providing a holiday meal to those in need.
The organization usually hosts a meal for the homeless every Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this year they instead handed out nearly 200 turkeys to people in need across the Grand Rapids area.
Guiding Light is now partnering with a local catering company and hand out meals to the homeless for Thanksgiving.
Meals will be handed out on Thanksgiving Day from 1-4 p.m. at Heartside Park in Grand Rapids.
