GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police Department Chief Eric Payne will host a virtual town hall at 6 p.m. Monday to get feedback on a draft of the department’s three-year strategic plan.
The department says it will use the feedback to finalize the plan, which Payne presented to the City Commission last week.
GRPD is working on a plan to “transform policing” in the city amid calls for reform after unrest throughout the summer.
It identifies three priorities: safety, innovation and engagement.
A final draft of the plan will go before the Commission on Sept. 29.
