GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A driver is facing charges after police say drugs may have caused them to crash into a building in Grand Rapids.

It happened on Division just south of Hall Street just before 8 a.m. Friday.

Grand Rapids police say the male driver was driving in the northbound lanes when he crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into the old Subway building at Division and Rena.

The driver was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Drugs do appear to be a factor in the crash, according to police.

The building was damaged but no one else was hurt.
