GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) is currently investigating a fatal fire on the city's northeast side.
The fire occurred at 2115 Oakwood Avenue NE around 11 a.m.
The Grand Rapids Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire upon arrival.
The remains of an individual were found in the house after a search.
An autopsy will be conducted, as the Kent County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
