GRPD surrounds home on city's northeast side; suspect not inside

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police have cleared a home they had surrounded on the city's northeast side Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of Lafayette Avenue and Carrier Street on a report of a domestic assault with a suspect who may be armed.

The victim in the initial incident is safe but investigators thought the suspect was still inside. Officers later determined the suspect wasn't there.

Police are working to figure out where the suspect is.
