GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Studio Park will soon see outdoor movies and concerts after months of almost no live entertainment nationwide.
Sunset Cinema will bring outdoor movies to the park’s piazza on Wednesdays beginning July 15, organizers announced Thursday.
“Yellow Submarine” starts off the series, followed by “Baby Driver” on July 22. More dates and films will be announced in the coming weeks, organizers said.
Movies are $5 per person with a four-ticket minimum for each reserved area on the lawn.
The lawn opens and 6 p.m. and movies start at 8 p.m.
On the live music side, Listening Lawn concerts will take place Thursdays, featuring local, regional and national musicians, organizers said.
Luke Winslow-King kicks things off July 23, followed by Asamu Johnson & The Associates of the Blues on July 30. More dates are set to be announced.
Ticket prices for concerts will vary.
Organizers say social distancing will be in place for both movies and concerts.
Groups must reserve places on the lawn in advance and will be spaced at least six feet away from others. Groups of less than four people are welcome but will still need to purchase tickets for the entire space.
Guests will need to wear masks when moving about but may take them off while seated.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
