GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man is facing charges for allegedly driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a Grand Rapids woman.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue and Noble Street. A 47-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a vehicle, which then crashed into two houses.
The driver, 37-year-old Javan Beard, was arrested after the crash. On Tuesday, prosecutors authorized charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and operating without a license. He is facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
