GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A double shooting in Grand Rapids leaving one person in critical condition Wednesday.
The first calls to 911 came in around 8:45 p.m. for shots fired near 1300 Maude Avenue NE. GRPD found a woman with a gunshot wound in her torso in a home near there and later another woman on Carrier Street with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm.
A man in the home on Maude Avenue returned fire at the original shooter. Police believe the second woman was hit by a stray bullet but it is not clear by which gun. The second shooter is in custody as they investigate.
The woman shot in the abdomen is in critical condition. Both victims were taken to the hospital.
