See the Black Lives Matter protest in downtown Grand Rapids turn into a riot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — See the videos and images FOX 17's reporters and photojournalists captured of the Black Lives Matter protest and riot in downtown Grand Rapids that lasted over 10 hours this weekend.

The peaceful protest started at 6 p.m. on Saturday and ended when the post-riot cleanup began at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.

A little more than 100 people already gathered in downtown Grand Rapids for a police brutality protest.

Things have peaceful so far, but within the last few minutes there’s been an escalation in their speech.
