GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man is dead and another is in critical condition following a crash in northeast Grand Rapids Thursday morning.
The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) says the crash happened above the I-196 Ford Freeway on Maryland Avenue.
We’re told a 27-year-old man crossed the centerline, which police have determined as what caused the crash.
Police say a 65-year-old man was killed as a result.
The 27-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for critical injuries, GRPD tells us. They say he is currently stable.
Maryland Avenue was closed but has since reopened.
Speed is a suspected factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
