GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Spectrum Health is warning patients about a new series of scam calls that target people's sensitive information.
Call "vishing," the callers pretend to be from Spectrum Health or Priority Health, then use flattery or threats to get identification information, money, even access to personal devices. Some of the calls spoof the caller ID of a Spectrum Health phone number.
"We would never ask someone to tell us their password for the Spectrum Health App," said Scott Dresen, senior vice president and chief information security officer.
If you received a call like this and believe your information is compromised, Spectrum Health asks you to call (877) 308-5083.
