Local departments responding to large house fire in Portland

PORTLAND, Mich. — The Ionia Department of Public Safety is working a large house fire Wednesday morning in Portland.

Portland Area Fire Authority was dispatched just before 7 a.m. to the 400 block of W. Grand River Ave.

Grand River Avenue was closed between West and Bridge streets.

Multiple departments responded.

No one was injured during the fire.

The house is considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
