BOSTON TWP., Mich. — A Michigan State Trooper has passed away Friday after spending nearly a month in the hospital.
33-year-old Caleb Starr was hit by a drunk driver while on duty, July 10th in Ionia County.
Michigan State Police made the announcement, saying "With extreme sadness we announce the loss of Trooper Caleb Starr of the Lakeview Post."

Starr joined MSP back in September of 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Rachael, who is a civilian member of the MSP, and their two young daughters.
Other law enforcement agencies shared their condolences over social media.
The Gratiot County Sheriff's office said, "Our thoughts and prayers to the family of this fallen Trooper. We are thinking and praying for the Lakeview Post."
The Kent County Sheriff's Office shared, "We are incredibly grateful to Trooper Starr for his dedicated service and ultimate sacrifice. Please join us in keeping his family, friends, and the Michigan State Police in your thoughts and prayers."
The Bath Township Police Department asked their followers to keep his family in their thoughts.
Charges are pending against the 28-year-old driver who allegedly crossed the center line, hitting the trooper.
