SHERWOOD FOREST, Mich. — A home in Sherwood Forest suffered substantial damage from a fire this morning.
The Ionia Department of Public Safety (DPS) was dispatched to a mobile home fire at Sherwood Forest, 1133 Yeomans St., at 6:45 am this morning.
Upon arrival, they found that the east side of the home was consumed with heavy fire and smoke.
The department suppressed the fire with an interior attack while a Ventilation crew opened up the roof.
The home suffered substantial damage, but both occupants were able to escape the fire without any injuries.
Saranac Community Fire Department provided mutual aid and Ionia County Victim Advocates helped care for the residents.
