BOSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A woman is dead after getting hit by a livestock truck in Ionia County on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened about 10:50 a.m. at the intersection of Hawley and Bluewater highways in Boston Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
A Dodge Avenger driven by a 71-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Hawley Highway and came to the intersection.
After stopping at the stop sign, the woman began crossing the intersection and was hit by a westbound semi hauling livestock.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man driving the semi was not injured.
Ionia County police continue to investigate the crash.
