BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Sunday evening shooting in Byron Township is new being investigated as a homicide, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office.
It happened in the Camelot Manor Mobile Home Community in the 300 block of North Harewood Drive SW.
Deputies responded to a shooting incident around 5:35 pm. The suspect, an 18-year-old man, ran from the scene but was quickly taken into custody.
The victim, Jeffrey Gamble, 36, of Byron Township, sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Deputies said the incident stemmed from a domestic argument. The two lived in the same residence and had known each other for several years.
