GRANDVILLE — Middle school and high school students will go back to remote learning after the rise of COVID-19 cases in the area.

The school district made the announcement Thursday morning.

"Tomorrow, November 13, we ask that all middle school and high school students stay home and participate in asynchronous (not live) remote learning, which will be provided by their teachers through Google Classroom," the district said in a statement to parents. "Beginning Monday, November 16, all students at Grandville Middle School and Grandville High School will participate in a remote learning experience that encompasses their current classes and what they have been learning. Specific details about this will be provided to you in a communication on Friday."

The district made the decision after the record 13.4% record high cases was in Kent County and the surrounding area.
