GAINES TWP., Mich. — A bank robbery that occurred in Gaines Township today is currently being investigated by the Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO).
Officers responded around 1:45 p.m. to the robbery of the Lake Michigan Credit Union, located at 6206 Kalamazoo Avenue SE in Gaines Township.
The suspect entered the bank, said he had a weapon, and demanded cash from the bank's employees.
After receiving an unknown amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, who was wearing dark-colored pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask, sunglasses, and a yellow winter hat with a fluffy ball on top.
