WALKER, Mich. — Police are investigating after a fatal crash in Walker Monday evening.
Limited information is available but the crash happened at Alpine Avenue and 4 Mile Road, according to the Walker Police Department (WPD).
Michigan State Police's Sixth District Post (which covers Kent County) posted to social media about the crash, saying the motorcyclist had been stopped by local police for registration issues when they "took off northbound on Alpine at a high rate of speed" before colliding with a passing car just before 9 p.m.
A chase had not been initiated by police.
Grand Rapids Post troopers are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred around 8:50 PM last evening at the intersection of Alpine Ave. and 4 Mile Road in Kent County.

The biker died at the scene according to MSP, while the driver of the car is in the hospital for minor injuries.
