GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After donating masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, face shields, and disinfectant to Kent County schools in August, Spectrum Health continues to donate PPE to area schools.
“Schools lacked critical resources and infrastructure to safely have students and staff back together on campus” said Cedar Springs Public Schools Superintendent Scott Smith in a release. “What was impossible became possible through the generous support from the Spectrum Health Team.”
In October, Spectrum donated 140,000 gloves, more than 135,000 masks, about 3,400 shields, and 1,500 disposable gowns.
“At a time when budgets are tight, and supplies are scarce, Spectrum Health saved schools considerable money by donating common PPE equipment,” noted Kevin Philipps, Kent ISD’s assistant superintendent of administrative services.
