GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Wednesday, May 6, is Nurses Day.
Nurses on the COVID-19 floor of Spectrum Health Butterworth say they've felt the love.
“Nurses Day this year… I just feel like has been extra special. Because the last few weeks…we’ve been able to be recognized by everyone in the community," nurse manager Lauren Nichol said.
The endless amounts of thank yous sent their way are helping...while they try to help those on their floor with COVID-19.
“It’s been tough. It’s always scary working on the COVID floor,” charge nurse Stephanie Konynenbelp said.
While it may be scary, things are starting to feel like a new normal.
“The first couple weeks did feel a little uneasy,” Nichol said.
"We’ve felt settle in. We feel supported. We have everyone behind us cheering us on helping us out. We’ve got this."
