WYOMING, Mich. — A woman was shot and killed today while walking on a sidewalk in Wyoming.
At about 12:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots and a person down on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Burton Street Southwest, according to the city of Wyoming Department of Public Safety today.
The 34-year-old female was shot, according to an initial investigation by police.
She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police said the suspect fled the area on foot.
Police described the suspect as a male, 5’10”-6’2", wearing a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt and blue face mask.
Police are asking people to avoid Burton Street Southwest between Clyde Park Avenue and Godfrey Avenue, while investigators process the scene.
