KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 17-year-old from Kalamazoo is injured after getting shot while sitting inside a parked car.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded about 3:15 p.m. Friday to the 400 block of Reed Avenue for a report of shots fired, a news release said.
While officers were checking the area, dispatch received a call from an area emergency room reporting that a victim had arrived.
He told police he had been “suddenly struck” by gunfire while sitting in a parked car.
The shooter left in an unknown direction and hasn’t been found or identified.
Officers found evidence of the crime at the scene.
The victim is in stable condition, according to KDPS.
