OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Kalamazoo County police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a man in a parking lot and fired a shot Thursday night in Oshtemo Township.

Deputies from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 9:30 a.m. to 5800 Jefferson Commons Circle, a news release said.

The victim told police that the man approached him in the parking lot and demanded money, threatening him with a handgun.

A shot was fired at the victim, but he wasn’t hit or injured.

The shooter and another man fled the scene in a vehicle.

He’s described as a Black man wearing a blue sweatshirt and a blue neck gaiter-style face mask, possibly in his early 20s.
