Kalamazoo police arrest 1 in connection to armed robbery

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A 26-year-old Kalamazoo resident has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery Tuesday night.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were dispatched about 6:10 p.m. to the 3000 block of S. Westnedge Avenue for a report of an armed robbery, according to a news release Wednesday.

The robber had entered a store and shown a weapon, then stole an undetermined amount of money and property from the store and fled on foot.

A police K-9 was called to the scene, but the robber wasn’t found then.

Officers were later dispatched about 9:15 p.m. to the 500 block of Terrace Court for trouble with an individual.

Further investigation led to evidence from the previous robbery.

The individual was arrested for armed robbery and resisting and obstructing arrest.

Police continue to investigate.
