KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer intercepted an individual connected to an earlier drive-by shooting Thursday.
Police responded about 1 p.m. to a report of gunfire in the 1900 block of South Burdick Street, according to a news release.
Witnesses gave police a detailed description of a vehicle and the individual involved as officers were arriving to the area.
An officer responding to the call intercepted the described vehicle.
When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.
They soon abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
KDPS officers gave chase and the shooter was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
The individual involved was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple felony charges, including weapons offenses, fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest.
