PORTAGE, Mich. — Westbound I-94 was shut down at multiple locations, including at Portage Road, due to multiple crashes.
I-94 westbound was also closed near the Mattawan exit because of a crash, according to MDOT.
The Kalamazoo Office of Emergency Management says roads are icing up and I-94 and US-131 both have lanes blocked in a number of directions because of crashes.
Officials are urging drivers to stay off the roads during the winter weather expected Friday evening, including a mix of freezing rain, sleet, ice and snow.
In Berrien County, a rollover crash happened on I-94 WB near the 18 MM.
No injuries were reported and both occupants were wearing seat belts.
US-131 also saw crashes.
