UPDATE: One hurt, one dead in late-night shooting in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Public safety officials are investigating a shooting in Kalamazoo.

When they arrived, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) officers found a 40-year-old man with a non-fatal gunshot wound to an extremity and a 34-year-old man, dead from a gunshot.

Officers report the shooting happened before 11 p.m. on Egleston Ave near Reed Ct. One victim was found inside a vehicle, the other; found nearby.

The two had been with the suspect earlier at another location, gotten into a Chevy Trailblazer, and driven to where the shooting happened.

"The group then entered a Chevy Trailblazer and traveled to the Egleston area, where the suspect shot the driver and then fired at the other victim," wrote KDPS in their release.

A suspect description hasn't been made public.
