Tranaya Darnecia Spencer was arraigned for the March homicide of a toddler she was caring for.
The toddler died on March 17th after being found unconscious on a bathroom floor four days earlier. Portage first responders had taken the two year-old to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment after starting CPR in the home. The Kalamazoo Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide.
The 21 year-old Portage woman was arraigned on two felony charges Wednesday for Homicide – Manslaughter and Child Abuse 3rd Degree with a $100,000 bond.
