BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police named a suspect today in a double homicide case at an apartment complex.

Kenneth Hoskins, 56, is the suspect in the death of two men at Silver Star Apartments over the weekend, according to Battle Creek Police today.

Hoskins was living with one of the men who died. He is from South Bend, Indiana.

Two residents of Silver Creek Apartments in Battle Creek — Fred Bissel, 62, and Jason Dush, 41 — were found dead in an apartment by another resident on April 12 at 4:30 p.m., according to Battle Creek Police.

Police believe the two men were friends but not roommates.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they found "signs of a struggle." Multiple knives were found during the investigation, and it "appears both men were stabbed."

The causes of their deaths are "still pending."

Police said they don't have a motive.

Investigators were led to Hoskins through witness statements, security video footage and crime scene processing.

He was recently at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, after allegedly being injured in "a road-rage incident" on I-94 in Comstock Township.

Hoskins is in the Kalamazoo County Jail. He is charged with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and motor vehicle theft.
