BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The city’s Recreation Department has great opportunities available now, for families seeking a safe, fun place for their children to spend time during the early winter season.
If you want to shop for the holidays without your children, or could use a night out, sign up for our Parents’ Night Out opportunities in December. Staff will welcome children ages 5 to 12 from 5-9:30 p.m. each night on Fridays Dec. 6, 13, and 20. The cost is $20 per child, and $15 per additional child for each evening.
This event includes dinner (pizza, chips, and a drink), gym games, board games, crafts, and a movie with popcorn.

Registration also is open for the city’s Winter Break Camp, a day camp for children ages 5 to 12 that includes sports, games, arts and crafts, and field trips. Children must eat breakfast before coming to camp, and bring a cold sack lunch each day. Staff will provide a daily snack.
This camp runs from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily on Dec. 26, 27, 30, and 31; and Jan. 2 and 3. The cost is $30 per day, or $150 for all six days of camp.
