MONTEREY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Allegan County police are investigating after a shooting left a person dead in Monterey Township.
It happened just before midnight on Nov. 2 at home near 130th Avenue and 30th Street, a news release said Friday.
People at the home told police someone who had been visiting shot one of the residents, then fled the area.
Officers found a man lying in the driveway who looked like he had a gunshot wound and obvious fatal injuries.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the shooter in what they say is very early on in the investigation process.
It doesn’t look like the public is in any danger at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
More information about the shooter and the man shot will be released as it becomes available.
