SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — The City of South Haven announced Sunday evening that they have closed South Beach through tomorrow and possibly beyond due to hazardous weather conditions.
Throughout Monday. waves are expected to 4-6 feet tall.
The South Beach has been barricaded, with signs warning against trespassing.
Sunday, the South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) and the South Haven Police Department (SHPD) responded to calls of individuals needing to be rescued despite red flags being posted. The Van Buren County Dive Team and U.S. Coast Guard assisted.
Rescue efforts to locate the presumed drowned missing 18-year-old man have stopped for the evening, and will continue in the morning.
