Family: Muskegon Heights shooting victims were teenage brothers

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — A teenager is dead and another is injured after a shooting at an apartment complex in Muskegon Heights, according to police.

Police were called to the Wells Villa Family housing just before 3 a.m. Monday.

Police say both were shot and one of the teenagers died, the other was hospitalized with serious injuries and is fighting for his life, according to family.

One of the family members at the scene tells FOX 17 the victims were brothers, ages 17 and 14. The family says the 17-year-old brother is the one who died in the shooting but police have not released anymore details.

Investigators were on scene all morning investigating.

Our crew saw officers blocking off what appears to have been a window that was shot out at the apartments.
