WHITEHALL, Mich. — Muskegon County police arrested a man Friday morning in connection to an armed robbery at a Comfort Inn and believe he may be connected to other crimes in Mason and Huron counties.

The armed robbery rapped about 5:50 a.m. at the Comfort Inn at 2822 W. Holton Whitehall Road, according to a news release.
Police say the man robbed a customer of the hotel at knifepoint in the parking lot and then went into the hotel, where he then tried to rob the front desk employee but was unsuccessful.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the customer.
The man then fled in a maroon or burgundy Chevrolet Equinox westbound on W. Holton Whitehall Road.
He’s described as a white man, about 6’2” with a thin build and shaved bald head, wearing brown overalls and an N-95 mask.
A state broadcast was sent out an Indiana State Police took him into custody near the Michigan and Indiana border after a brief stand-off.
Muskegon County police are working with agencies in Mason and Huron counties to determine if the man was also involved in crimes there.
The man’s identity is being withheld until he is arraigned on charges in Muskegon County.
