RAVENNA, Mich. — Tara Brown says she's tired of people illegally dumping their trash on other people's property, and she wants the disrespect to stop. This time, she says she's managed to make an example out of a few culprits who she caught dumping trash on her property.

Brown says she spotted a Uhaul wile driving by one of her and family's properties in Ravenna on Monday.

"They did not want to be caught," she said.

But they did get caught. Brown started recording and continued her interaction with two men and one woman who she found dumping couches, TVs, and other junk onto her land on Bailey Road. FOX 17 hasn't shown their faces because, at this time, they have not been charged with a crime.

She says one man became apologetic when confronted and claimed the land belonged to a buddy.

"It was just like, 'I would like to know who gave you the right to be on my property,'' Brown asked.

She says one man responded by saying, "'Oh, it's not your property. It's my buddy John's,' and I'm like, 'No.'"

"'John who?' It went back and forth like that, and the girl dove into the truck. It was just odd. The whole thing was just surreal," Brown explained.

She ordered the group to put the trash back into the truck. Brown posted the exchange on Facebook which garnered more than 14,000 views as of Tuesday afternoon

Brown said, "I want someone to be able to recognize these guys."

"How many times have they done this," she questioned.

"Have they been using this site all along? Is that where all the tires are coming from? I don't know," Brown said.

Brown says she contacted the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department and plans to meet with them today. FOX 17 reached out to them for comment on the video but have not heard back.
