MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — In a post updating on multiple arrests, Muskegon Heights Police say they found and arrested the suspect in a Criminal Sexual Conduct case crossing multiple states and decades.
The 37 year-old case started in April of 1983 on 6th Street involving the first-degree sexual assault of a 6 year-old girl. An investigation started but a warrant wasn't able to be issued until April 1984. Before they could arrest them, the suspect, Dale Rose, left the state. Informants helped find the Rose in Clark County Texas in 2017, but a computer glitch released him before MHPD could have Rose brought back to Michigan.
According to the police department's Facebook page, informants again helped MHPD find the Rose in July 2020 in Clark Count, Tennessee. The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office requested a Governor's Warrant, sending a sergeant and a Detective to Tennessee themselves. They arrested Rose and brought him back to Muskegon County where he awaits trial for the crime.
