MICHIGAN — A member of Allendale Township's Planning Commission wants to earn an elected position, and he's aiming at the highest office in the state.
Ryan Kelley filed a statement of organization with the Secretary of State's office. That statement announcing Kelley created the "Michigan for Ryan D. Kelley" committee. According to the filing, Kelley is pursuing a campaign for governor in the 2022 election. He filed as a Republican.
According to the Secretary of State's office, Kelley filed the statement on January 28, 2021.
Kelley has been the focus of activists for months, with his defense of the Civil War memorial in a township park, and alleged involvement at the Capitol Riot.
