POLKTON TOWNSHIP, Mich — An investigation is underway to find the person who left a dog zip-tied inside of a crate, then placed inside a portable restroom at a park.

According to Harbor Humane, the dog, who's been named Jon, was found Monday at Sheridan Park in Polkton Township. The rescue says the dog didn't have access to any clean water or food.

Harbor Humane says it's looked into claims that Jon may be a missing dog from Allegan, but has confirmed he is not the same animal. They also tell FOX 17 that Ottawa County Animal Control is investigating the situation.

If you'd like to help in Jon's care, or others like him, you can donate to the rescue here.

Anyone with information on who may have left Jon in the park should call Ottawa County Animal Control at 800-249-0911.
