HOLLAND CITY, Mich. — Holland police are investigating an armed robbery Wednesday evening at a Verizon store.

It happened just before 7 p.m. at 1013 Washington Ave. In Holland City, according to a news release Thursday.

The store’s clerk told police that two men entered the store shortly before it closed.

After entering the store, one of the men pulled out a handgun and told both employees to go to the back of the store.

They then took an undetermined amount of inventory from the back of the store before fleeing through a backdoor, leaving in an unknown direction.

During a canvass of the area, investigators learned from an employee of a nearby business that two individuals matching the robbers’ descriptions were seen running to the north of the area.

The man who showed the handgun is described as Black, 20-30 years old, wearing a gray shirt and gray sweatpants.

The second robber is described as a Black man, 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket.

Both were also wearing masks.

No one was injured during the robbery and no other customers were in the store at the time.

Employees weren’t able to access the store’s surveillance system, so no photos are available at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident may contact the Holland Department of Public Safety at 616-355-1150.
